Some of you may have heard about the traveling museum that brings out the kid in you. Or you may have heard about a museum specifically for Instagrammers.
If you don't know what I'm talking about yet, it's called the oh so famous Candytopia!
The museum that has captured the hearts of kids and adults around the world.
I'm sure you've seen photos on Instagram or Facebook and wondered what the hype was all about but truly, after visiting the museum myself...the hype is all in the experience.
From the moment you walk in Candytopia you will be in awe. Not only at the enthusiastic staff who greet you from beginning to end, but at the amount of detail that went into creating an incredibly beautiful, fun, and tasty social environment.
I'm not sure if every museum differs, but the one in Atlanta did not disappoint.
For only $34.00 there's access to a 12-room interactive experience, free candy, and super cool photo opportunities meant to make all of your "instafriends" jealous.
Candytopia is literally a sugar-filled art exhibit built for Instagram!
In an age where social media is so prevalent, the concept is genius and the masterminds behind it all are Jackie Sorkin (owner of a candy-themed LA events company and star of TLC’s Candy Queen,) retail businessman John Goodman, and events and production designer, Zac Hartog.
Honestly, due to their incredible ability to captivate audiences of all ages, it’s hard not to get caught up in the joy of Candytopia, which opened in Atlanta on February 8th after debuting last year in Santa Monica.
The colors and statues and samples in every room literally melt the adult bones in your body because all you'll want to do is prance around while either taking photos or scoping out fun facts about the candied items in each room.
Unfortunately, the only faux pas is that you're not able to go back so I'm warning you... soak everything out of your experience at once because each room will take you on a new adventure and offer a variety of unexpected surprises!
Though the surprises get better and better as you make your way through the museum, the biggest surprise is of course saved for last.
This is the beloved marshmallow pit -which brings back all kinds of memories. No, the marshmallows are not real (thank goodness because this would be a major health hazard and laundry dilemma to sort out every time).
For me, I can truly say that the time in the pit put the icing on the cake because not only do you get your last and final photo op, you also get to play with a ton of squishy faux sweet treats that make your entire hour/hour and a half spent in the museum even more incredible.
Those of you reading who haven't had time to visit Candytopia yet still have until July 28th to catch it in Atlanta!!
Luckily if you aren't in the Atlanta area you can still visit the museum if you reserve your spot for Dallas or Houston during the month of June!! Tickets are sold in time slots every 15 minutes starting at 10 a.m. and ending at 8:30 p.m. Tickets must be purchased in advance by clicking here!
