BLOG Feature: The Long Island Blonde

One of our goals when we started The Champagne Series, was to highlight women doing great things. We wanted to share tips and advice on how to live your best life but also, show people who are doing it!

It was major for us to create a platform where women can progress, and part of how we do that is by supporting them and telling their stories.

In this post, we want to introduce a new blogger who connected with us on Instagram - The Long Island Blonde.

Tell us a little about the Long Island Blonde

The Long Island Blonde is a lifestyle brand and blog. It's your resource for all things fashion, style, beauty, fitness & wellness, food & drinks, home decor, life hacks and of course everything Long Island (NY). It's meant to be a safe place where everyone can be true, pure, and organic -- an outlet for people to build each other up. Really, I wanted to build the brand for years, but it was late last year when I made the commitment to bring my vision to life. I believed others would feel strongly and passionate about the same things I did - such as morning fitness routines, the makeup I swear by, home decor, recipes as well as fashion tips. I saw other bloggers out there that demonstrated so much success, and I thought to myself, "Why not me?" I'm an avid follower of Gary Vee on Instagram, so I ordered his book, “Why Now is the Time to Crush it and Cash in on Your Passion” (anyone looking to create their own brand and company totally should read it). It truly gave me the tools and resources to put my dreams into play. The world is so big and there's enough room for everyone to be successful. After that, I took the plunge and moved forward with blogging. Each and every follower means so much to me and I hope my blog brings joy to their life.

What can readers expect from your content?

My readers can expect a full panel of everything in the lifestyle niche, all things Long Island, and general life hacks such as my Sage Sundays & why I don’t believe shoes should be worn in the house. I want to build on the community I have and keep it going. People should feel like they can come to me and tell me that they're looking to tone their arms and I tailor a great workout for that. The same goes for fashion & style. So many of my friends call me when they have an event or need a new outfit. They ask me to shop with them to create the perfect look because I know which silhouettes flatter each body type and can listen to someone’s style taste and bring it to life. I always know the perfect site for them to order from to get what they need. With my blog, I bring the same friendly advice to my readers. I also love to share recipes for food and cocktails and of course, everything great about Long Island (including my favorite places from towns, festivals, restaurants, beaches to coffee shops). Giving my secrets, putting positivity in the world, and detailing helpful tips and tricks throughout my content can only brighten someone’s day and that’s all I hope to do with my content.

Who or what inspires your writing?

My family, my audience and myself are what inspires my writing. I have a strong support system, so my husband and mom have been there to support my endeavors since day one. I also have a small but growing community and I truly value each and every follower on the journey with me. Because my community means the world to me, if I try a new product, I feel it’s my calling to share that in my blog. I really push myself to make my new blog posts better than the last just to keep my audience happy & engaged.

What did you do before starting your blog?

Prior to starting my blog, I graduated from The Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC with my Bachelor’s Degree. It was always a huge dream of mine to attend and graduate from that school. Upon graduation, I worked at Bloomingdale’s for 3 years. The company was great but the work-life balance was not feasible so I ended up leaving. I'm a firm believer that success comes to those who hustle. With that being said, one of my co-workers (who also left the company) pulled me into finance. I’ve been in the industry for a year now and a lot of the aspects of business correlate with fashion- the bottom line is sales and money. Currently, I'm happy doing both finance and blogging until I'm able to transition as a blogger full time.

Which bloggers or companies would be your dream collaboration?

First and foremost I'll say that I'm so excited to collab with The Champagne Series. I love the blog and Instagram, as well as everything that's written and what the blog stands for. As for other bloggers and companies... my dream collaborations are quite a few. I'm a huge fan of The Bohemian Beauty Queen and I was fortunate enough to meet her and collab with her already. She’s an amazing person inside and out. The only other blogger I have an immense amount of respect for and look up to is Sarah Pendrick. I admire the empire she built for herself all based on girl talk, kindness, babes supporting babes and women empowerment. I would love to meet her and attend one of her festivals one day. From a company perspective, I'd love to do work for Louis Vuitton, Pure Barre, Pier 1 Imports, and have a collab with MAC for lipgloss/lipstick. I'd also like to forge partnerships with businesses and brands here in Long Island.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

From a personal standpoint, I hope to have my first child and make our home a "home". Professionally, I want to be at the point where my blog is my full-time job - where I can wake up every day doing what I love. I already have a small array of products ranging from coffee mugs, tote bags, sweatshirts, and tanks- but I want other products to be released in the near future (in local retailers as well as online). I also wish to have a book published and my own talk show where I would have like-minded individuals as guests. I know that's a stretch, but, I believe with hard work, diligence, and perseverance anything is possible. I'm a firm believer in believing in yourself. We all can do absolutely anything we set our minds to do.

Give us one tip for anyone looking to start a blog or wanting to find their calling

My one tip for anyone starting looking to start a blog or wanting to find their calling is to do it and do it now! This is advice I myself need to take sometimes. I think if I would’ve started my company 5, 3, heck even 1 year ago it would’ve been a lot further. But that’s ok. I always say having faith and believing in yourself will bring your dreams to fruition. Don’t dwell on the past and what you could’ve or should’ve done. Now is the time to make a change and make things happen. We’re only on this earth once so make sure you do everything you could possibly want or desire so you live with no regrets. Your unique calling is what makes you you. And remember, like I said, you can do anything you set your mind to. The sky is the limit! Never look back.
