5 Things To Do While Social Distancing During The Coronavirus Pandemic
Updated: Apr 15, 2020
Since most of us have been advised to stay inside, here at The Champagne Series we wanted to offer our readers some things to do to help pass the time.
So here's our list of 5 things to do while practicing social distancing during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic:
1) Take courses on Coursera
Coursera has always been a good resource for additional learning! While most days, we're busy with other things, the extra time at home could be a catalyst for advancing your education. Knowledge is always power, so why not take advantage of free resources available from the world's best colleges!?
Coursera offers the opportunity to audit any kind of class you can think of, or take the course with the intention to buy a certificate at the end!
2) Do a virtual work out
Because technology is so amazing, so many gyms, studios, and teachers have been offering virtual classes! I participated in a CaribFunk Zumba class two nights ago and this week, I will probably catch up on some online yoga! If you scour the internet, you'll find so many options available to you, and you'll never actually have to leave the house!
Linked below are the yoga classes I'll be doing with Corepower Yoga! Feel free to join me!
3) Pick up an old or new skill or hobby
With all this extra time on our hands, it is a great time to try something new, or catch up on the things you love! Get some yarn and learn how to knit or crochet or try a new hairstyle! The list of fun things you can do really goes on and on! You don't have to be consumed by social media or pass the time just watching Netflix! Try out some new recipes, start reading or writing, and hone those skills! Who knows, maybe you'll ignite an unknown passion or reignite a dream of yours! The time to invest in your talents is NOW!
This sort of goes off of point 3, but all of us have some sort of creative bone in us - even if we don't think so! Begin a work of art, poem, book, website... seriously... anything you put your mind to, you can certainly do! There are no distractions, no one to tell you no... just you and your plans for success! Be ready for when game time comes and when it does, you won't be the one getting ready, you'll be the one already ready to succeed at whatever's thrown your way!
5) Clean & Reorganize
Spring cleaning happens anyway, so with the time at home, why not get it done now! Reorganize your papers, clear out some old clothing, or give your house a thorough scrub down before life gets too busy again. Cleaning also happens to be very therapeutic so you can always use the time to destress and get in touch with your total self and spirituality.
The point is, with so much time on our hands, we finally have the opportunity to do all the things we normally couldn't, so from us to you, make the most of it!
